    We are currently seeking an HR Generalist for our office in Charlotte, NC.


    Under supervision of the Human Resources Leader, the HR Generalist performs a variety of responsible and complex techincal administrative duties relating to employee functions and programs, including in the areas of employment, recruitment, workers' compensation, benefits administration, employee relations; provides information and assistance regarding human resource activities, processes, policies and procedures; prepare various correspondence; coordinates activities related to an area of assignment; performs a variety of tasks requiring specialized knowledge.



    Qualified applicants possess an Accredited Professional Bachelor’s degree, or higher, from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Communications or related field.


    2-8+ years of experience directly in a human resources capacity with considerable knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration; increasingly responsible technical or administrative  experience  in  human resources  administration  activities,  specifically  with experience  in  duties  listed  above;  strong  oral  and  written interpersonal communication  skills; and  an  understanding  of  state  and  federal  requirements  and  regulations. Experience in an architecture firm or construction firm preferred.




    • Provide customer service answering questions from employees regarding HR issues, with special attention to benefits, and other requests for information.
    • Prepare a variety of reports including technical reports and status reports in support of HR initiatives throughout the firm.
    • Plan  and  coordinate  recruitment  and  participation  in  job  fairs;  prepare  job  announcements  and advertisements;  post  open  positions  in  accordance  with  the  firm’s affirmative  action  processes;  and notify candidates of application/employment status.  
    • Conduct onboarding process for  all  new  hires in North Carolina;  conduct initial new employee orientation for purposes  of ensuring appropriate completion of payroll and benefits documentation; process and maintain I-9 and E-Verify for all new hires, existing and exiting employees,  and  ensure  timely  enrollment  into  benefits providers.   
    • Compile payroll data, maintain documentation and enter payroll data for bi-weekly payroll changes as requested to support Finance.
    • Assist with benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, preparing invoices for processing and payment.
    • Research, compile and analyze data for special personnel projects and reports.  
    • Assist with the various employee discount coupons by contacting companies for coupons as directed by the Human Resources Leader. 
    • Operate  a  variety  of  office  equipment  including  a  computer,  copier, scanner and  facsimile machine; utilize various computer applications and software packages.  
    • Perform related duties as required. 
    • Demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative in dealing with daily assumptions

    • Demonstrated experience in a high performing HR team with a particular emphasis in benefits, benefits negotiations and administration of multiple benefits across a large population.
    • Current PHR | SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
    • Specific experience providing HR support in a professional service business is advantageous.
    • Experience managing Affirmative Action Plans and supporting initiatives for Federal Contract Compliance is highly relevant and preferred.
    • Possess the organizational skills to prioritize tasks and handle multiple, often competing, deadlines
    • Ability to offer thought leadership regarding organizational strategy, providing insightful data to enhance solutions
    • Proven candidate sourcing and relationship building skills
    • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
    • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
    • Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Able to collect and interpret data-based measurements to demonstrate the effectiveness of HR processes
    • Skills in database management and record keeping
    • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of HR work
    • Ability to travel for recruitment meetings, career fairs, onboarding and maintain a flexible work schedule
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
    • Gather and analyze information skillfully

    Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting.
